به گزارش تیتر هنر، پیس بوئنوس آیرس در بیانیهای اعلام کرد که برای بررسی وضعیت مردی که گفته شده بود حالت تهاجمی دارد و احتمالا تحت تأثیر مواد مخدر و الکل است، به هتلی در محله پالرمو فراخوانده شده بود. مدیر هتل گفت که صدای بلندی از پشت هتل شنیده و زمانی که پلیس رسید، متوجه شدند که مردی از بالکن اتاقش سقوط کرده است.
به گزارش یورونیوز، جسد این خواننده بریتانیایی در محوطه داخلی هتل پیدا شد و امدادگران مرگ او را تأیید کردند.
چارلی پوث، خواننده آمریکایی، در اینستاگرام گفت: «شوکه شدم. لیام همیشه با من مهربان بود. او یکی از اولین هنرمندان بزرگی بود که با او همکاری کردم و نمیتوانم باور کنم که او دیگر نیست».
همچنین گروهی از مردم و طرفداران این خواننده در ساعات اولیه در محل حادثه تجمع کرده بودند،
لیام پین بهعنوان یکی از اعضای گروه پاپ «وان دایرکشن» به شهرت جهانی رسید. این گروه موسیقی پس از کسب رتبه سوم در برنامه موسیقی «ایکس فاکتور» بریتانیا در سال ۲۰۱۰، به شهرت رسید. اما در سال ۲۰۱۶ گروه منحل شد و اعضای آن فعالیتهای انفرادی خود را دنبال کردند.
مجله اینترتینمنت ویکلی گروه وان دایرکشن را تا سال ۲۰۲۴ بهعنوان سومین گروه پسرانه برتر معرفی کرده بود و این گروه حدود ۷۰ میلیون آلبوم در سراسر جهان فروخته بود که آن را به یکی از پرفروشترین گروههای پسرانه تاریخ تبدیل کرد.
