در تاریخ معاصر ایران، کمتر تجربهای را میتوان یافت که به اندازه سازمان فیلم گلستان در مرز میان صنعت، سیاست و هنر حرکت کرده باشد؛ تجربهای که به محفلی برای تلاقی برخی از مهمترین نامهای ادبی و هنری بدل شد. ابراهیم گلستان، که مسیرش از سیاست و ادبیات آغاز شده بود، در بزنگاه پساکودتای ۲۸ مرداد به انتخابی دشوار رسید، انتخابی که از دل آن، یکی از مهمترین نهادهای مستقل تولید فیلم در ایران شکل گرفت.
این استودیو، با اتکا به سرمایه صنعت نفت و در عین حال با رویکردی خلاقانه و متفاوت، بستری فراهم آورد تا چهرههایی چون فروغ فرخزاد، مهدی اخوانثالث و نجف دریابندری در کنار یکدیگر تجربهای کمنظیر از پیوند ادبیات و سینما را رقم بزنند. با این حال، همین پیوند با ساختارهای اقتصادی و سیاسی زمانه، به یکی از مناقشهبرانگیزترین فصلهای روشنفکری ایران نیز دامن زد. جایی که دوستیها به فاصله بدل شد و پرسش از نسبت هنر و قدرت، به شکلی جدی پیش روی یک نسل قرار گرفت.
پیشنهاد شرکت نفت
زمانی که ابراهیم گلستان تحصیلاتش را در دانشکده حقوق نیمه کاره رها کرد، فکرش را نمیکرد، روزگار مسیرش را به سمت فیلم و فیلمسازی بکشاند.
پس از کودتای ۲۸ مرداد ۱۳۳۲، ابراهیم گلستان که پیشتر از حزب توده جدا شده بود، به عنوان پیمانکار دایره تهیه عکس و خبر کنسرسیوم بینالمللی نفت مشغول به کار شد. او با استفاده از فیلمهای شخصی خود، مستند «از قطره تا دریا» را ساخت که توجه آرتور التون، مستندساز سرشناس انگلیسی و رئیس بخش فیلم کمپانی «شل»، را برانگیخت. التون آنقدر از کار گلستان راضی بود که کنسرسیوم نفت تصمیم گرفت استودیو گلستان را با تجهیزات کامل و پیشرفته تأسیس کرده و در اختیار او بگذارد. بهای این تجهیزات از طریق حقالزحمه کارهای آتی گلستان پرداخت میشد .
تردید و دو دلی
گلستان که در حدفاصل سالهای ۱۳۲۴ و ۱۳۲۵ عضو حزب توده شده بود و خیلی زود راهش را از تودهایهای چپگرا جدا کرد، جهت پذیرفتن سفارش فیلم از شرکت نفت، بر سر دو راهی مانده است. جلالآل احمد در مقالهای درباره احوالات گلستان در آن روزها مینویسد که او روزی هزار بار از خودش میپرسید بکنم یا نکنم؟ گلستان همان روزها پاپی جلال شده بود که چرا نمیآیی و مشخص بود که به تنهایی جرات انجام این کار را ندارد.
گلستان در نهایت کار را قبول میکند و سازمان فیلم گلستان رسماً در نوروز سال ۱۳۳۷ در خیابان ارک تهران کار خود را آغاز کرد و بعداً به منطقه دروس نقل مکان کرد. این استودیو در فاصله سالهای ۱۳۳۶ تا ۱۳۴۱ مجموعه مستندهایی با عنوان «چشماندازها» برای کنسرسیوم نفت تولید کرد.
همکاری با اخوانثالث و فروغ
مهدی اخوانثالث در اولین سفرهای گلستان همراه او جهت تصویربرداری راهی سفری به آبادان و گچساران میشود. اخوان ثالث یکی از منظمترین همکاران گلستان بود و سالها به عنوان همکار و دوست صمیمی در کنار او ماند.
گلستان در گفتوگویی درباره این همکاری چنین گفته است: «تمام مدتی که برای من کار میکرد، نسبت به دیگران از منظمترین کسانی بود که با من کار میکردند. آدم خیلی منظمی بود.» او در جای دیگری گفته بود که «من شادم از اینکه در دورهای زندگی کردم که مهدی اخوان شعر میسرود».
در دوره دوم فیلمبرداری فیلمهای مستند فروغ فرخزاد هم همراه گلستان به جنوب میرود تا از همان جا به طور عملی با فیلمسازی آشنا شود.
فروغ فرخزاد و مهدی اخوانثالث برای ساخت مستندهای بعدی همچنان در کنار گلستان میمانند. در مستند چشمانداز «گردش چرخ» فروغ تدوینگر است و در مستند «آب و آتش» نامش در کنار گلستان به عنوان کارگردان آمده است.
همچنین فروغ در تدوین چشمانداز «پیشرفت» استعداد بینظیری از خود نشان داد و از همانجا زمینههای آشنایی فروغ با سینما و فیلمسازی شکل گرفت. ساخت مستند «خانه سیاه است» فروغ، ماحصل همین تجربیات است. کریم امامی، از مترجمان و روزنامهنگارا مترجم همکار دیگر استودیو، درباره فروغ گفته است: «خیلی از فیلمها را تدوین میکرد و یا اینکه مثلاً در نوشتن سناریو شرکت داشت، ولی من فکر میکنم در فیلم خانه سیاه است، دید شاعرانه او با موضوعی که میتواند بسیار سیاه و وحشتناک باشد تلفیق غریبی پیدا کرده و این فیلم را در یک سطح والای هنری قرار داده است».
همکاری نجف دریابندری و کریم امامی
نجف دریابندری نیز یکی دیگر از همکاران سازمان فیلم گلستان است. دریابندری که خودآموخته زبان انگلیسی بود، پیش از همکاری با گلستان ترجمه «وداع با اسلحه» همینگوی را انجام داده بود. او پس از آزادی از زندان (به دلیل عضویت در حزب توده) به سازمان فیلم گلستان پیوست و به عنوان همکار گلستان، فروغ و اخوان ثالث فعالیت کرد. او بعدها دریابندری به عنوان سردبیر در مؤسسه انتشارات فرانکلین مشغول به کار شد و آثار ماندگاری چون «پیرمرد و دریا» و «ماجراهای هاکلبری فین» را ترجمه کرد.
کریم امامی یکی دیگر از مترجمان خوب و حرفهای است که در دفتر فیلمسازی گلستان حضور دارد و گاهی مطالب و نقدهایی از مستندها برای نشریات میفرستد. امامی پس از بازگشت از آمریکا در سال ۱۳۳۸ به استودیو گلستان پیوست. او که انگلیسی میدانست، به عنوان دستیار کارگردان انگلیسی (آلن پندری) و دستیار تهیهکننده مشغول به کار شد.
امامی درباره تجربه حضورش در استودیو میگوید: «من در این دوره با کار فیلمسازی مستند آشنا شدم. همچنین کتابهایی درباره سینما میخواندم و گاهی از من میخواستند که سناریویی بنویسم». او بعدها به عنوان مترجمی برجسته، رمان «گتسبی بزرگ» و داستانهای شرلوک هلمز را به فارسی برگرداند.
چالشهای گلستان و جلال
در این میان رابطه جلال آلاحمد و گلستان فراز و نشیبهای زیادی به خود میبیند. جلالکه در سالهای ابتدایی دهه ۱۳۳۰ با گلستان رابطه نزدیکی داشت، پس از کودتای ۱۳۳۲ تصمیم گرفت راه خود را از فیلمساز جدا کند. دلیل اصلی، همکاری گلستان با شرکت نفت بود. این اختلاف به یکی از مشهورترین جدالهای روشنفکری تاریخ معاصر ایران تبدیل شد.
جلال پس از دورهای همکاری با گلستان، پس از کودتای ۱۳۳۲ تصمیم میگیرد راهش را از این فیلمساز جدا کند. آلاحمد نظر مثبتی نسبت به همکاری استودیو با شرکت نفت نداشت و در این باره چنین نوشته بود: «تا موج و مرجان و خارا درآمد، در این مدت ما دانسته بودیم که هر کداممان راهی داریم و حرفی دیگر، و دیگر آن ایدهآلهای جوانی مشترک نیست و نان خوردنی هم در کار است و دیگر هم نمیخواهد جوابگوی کلهخریهایی باشد که تو میکنی و به هر صورت معلوم شده بود که اگر به چاه میرویم یا به برج عاج، حماقت است اگر انتظار همراهی دیگری را داشته باشی، و دانسته بودیم که در این عرصات هر کس مسئول نام اعمال خویش است… و موج و مرجان و خارا میگفت که حالا گلستان شده است حماسهسرای صنعت نفت که مرا و ما را در آن هیچ دستی نیست.»
سازمان فیلم گلستان در تاریخ سینما و ادبیات ایران یک پدیده منحصربهفرد بود: استودیویی که بودجه آن از صنعت نفت تأمین میشد اما محصولات آن، از مستندهای صنعتی تا فیلمهای شاعرانه مرزهای هنر ایران را جابهجا کرد. اگرچه همکاری با شرکت نفت انتقادات تندی به همراه داشت، اما دستاوردهای هنری و فنی این استودیو غیرقابل انکار است.
